Storyboard Media Project Will and Bryan.

This is the establishing shot for our media project ‘ the dreamer’
It is a compilation of 2 shots both at other sides of the road. During these shots the text at the bottom projects information about the film, such as the directors, producers etc.

This next shot shows the first character, it is a close-up as he lights a cigarette in a car.

This next shot shows the right side of the car, with the characters arm out the window as he smokes. This shot switches back to a close up on the character continuing to smoke.

This is the next shot as our second character comes into the movie; it is a low view shot from the floor, as he walks past the car.

This shot is when our two characters notice each other, it is a mid range shot.

The shot then changes to this one where it is a side view of the car, where we can see our second character start to run, and our first character put out his cigarette.

This next shot is a worm view shot as the car moves away and chases our second character; we also see our first characters smoked cigarette on the gravel.

This next shot is a behind the shoulder shot of our first character driving the car. We can see the second character through the windshield.

This next shot is another worm view shot from the floor; it shows our second character running quickly past the camera.

The shot you can see both the car, and our second character running from it in this shot.

In this shot we see the second character run past a corner.

This is the same shot as above, except we now see the car follow the second character around the corner.

This nxt shot again shows our second character running away from the camera, the car comes into this shot later as well.

This shot then pans from right to left while the character runs along the fence.
The next shot shows the second character climbing over the fence, while the car comes into view. This is a worm view shot, and uses the grass to develop the scene as a low shot scene.

After the second character climbs the fence the shot then switches to follow him running again, as he runs past a bush.

This shot is too difficult to observe in one picture, this is because the second character is holding the camera while he is running with it, and this gives a first person feel to the audience.

The shot then switches to a low almost worm view shot. This shows the car come towards the camera, as it then proceeds to drive over the camera.

The shot then switches to our second character getting hit by the car. This is an above shot.

This next shot is first person view from our first character, as he walks towards and proceeds to stand over our second character.

This next shot is first person view from our second character, who is about to get kicked in the face from our first character.

This shot shows our seconds characters view as he gets kicked in the face.

Immediately after the kicking the audience meets our third character, he suddenly wakes up from a dream and sits up. The audiences realize that the previous scene was a dream. To make it seem more dreamlike we added certain special effects such as a color changer, this effect slightly changes colors, and was why the color was strange in the previous scenes.

The shot then changes to show the character from an angled right side shot.

Shot changes again to a slightly right shot as the third character rubs his eyes and sits up.

The shot then changes to a close up as the camera zooms on his face.

The shot switches again, this time to a close up of the third characters eye, we used the cookie cutter effect and placed the previous dream scenes into the iris. This gives a supernatural effect to the film. We used certain effects such as feather and size change to change the size of the scene and blur it so that it fitted naturally into the iris.

The shot changes again to the third character sitting up in bed from a side view shot.

Shot changes back to the angles right shot as he gets out of the bed for a second time.

The shot then changes to show the third character stand up and move towards the curtains, as he reaches to open the, the shot changes again.

The shot changes to an outside view of the window, as the curtains are pulled open.

As the previous shot shows the window open we then switch to a behind the back shot as the character pokes his head out the window.

The shot changes again as the character walks past the camera to get changed.

After the character is changed we use editing software to fade into this scene as the character walks out the door.

After the character has walked out the door, we switch to him opening the gate. Far range shot.

Closer up shot (midrange) of character closing the gate.

Shot changes back as character walks away from gate on his phone.

Shot shows character now speaking on his phone.

Shot from behind character as the car from characters dream pulls in front of his drive.

Shot shows first character looking out window at third character.

Shot shows third character looking confused and frightened after seeing his dream in reality.

Shot from back as third character still in a shocked standstill.

Shot showing the title comes on, before beginning of film is over.

Plot

I didn't publish my plot early on as we wern't certain on what our ending was going to be, and needed to do a decent amount of research before finalising what our story line would be.

Our beginning of film starts with a establishing shot of a few quite streets with just natural sounds of birds and other cars, all together a quiet environment. this suddenly changes as the camera then shows a man having a cigarette in his car, while gripping the steering very tight and reving the engine loud. the cigarette is flicked out the window as the car speeds of, suddenly this switches to a man running with a hood up and all you can hear is heavy breathing, this then slowelt changes into a car chase as you begin to see the car behind the man running, this gets quicker and quicker, shown with many different camera angles, to give a dreamy effect. the car continues to get closer as it finally hits the man running away, when suddenly Bryan wakes up from his dream, but wait, he then see;s everything that just happen rewindd extremly quick through his eye, and then wakes up again. Bryan is a bit shaken so goes down stairs to have some cereal then get the bus to school, bryan thinks nothing of the event as it was just a 'dream'.

Bryan walks down to the bus stop, when suddenly a car drives past, and in slow motion The driver and bryan catch eyes, they look eachother in the eye for a split second (this mean driving the car is the same guy that was in his dream). Was it a dream after all or what.

Risk assessment

As our short Beginning to our film has a car case scene, we believed we should be doing a risk assessment.
  • first of all we looked at how we could film the car case in a suitable place instead of doing it on a main road, so we took this into consideration and found a quite road which we will be filming on.
  • As One character will be running we need to be careful of falling over and watch where we film. we have looked at this and we have decided that before we film we will look around for any hazards and check that everything is clear and okay to film, by doing this we shouldnt be scared of slipping if we keep to a suitable speed.
  • Anothe rissue is where to put the camera as we have to keep that safe and we have decided to keep it on a tri stand and off the road, however as we are filming on a quiet road we shouldnt have any traffic coming.
  • Obviously a huge problem is when the actor who is getting chased gets hit by the car. we have thought alot about this and we are going to film the car driving towards the camera then cut the shot and edit it to make it look as if the car has hit the man running.
  • A large portion of are filming is driving so have to watch out for other vechicals, but like i mentioned above we have picked a quiet road to film on where there shouldnt be much traffic but we need to still stick to the speed limits and drive safely to ensure that everyone is kept safe and filming goes to plan.

Practice Eye Shot Techniques

We tryed this Technique to see if we would be able to show some footage being rewinded in the eye of our character. We did this by placing some footage onto of the orignal footage of the eye. We then Made the eye slitghly see through and made the footage of Bryan walking faster. In our actual film the shot will be just of the eye and not the outside to get a better image quality inside the eye.
